DB2 100% CPU Utilization

I am running a standalone PC (DELL 1,73MHz with 504 MB of RAM) using
Windows XPP Service Pack 2 and BD2 version 8.1 (the freeware
version!).
Right after start of the PC the process db2dasrrm.exe takes all CPU
time. This makes the system extremely slow; to start the Control
Center takes several minutes. Exploring the database, e.g. to open the
table view gives the error SQL 1032N, "No start command of the
database has been given". SQLSTATE=57019. If I try to start the
database I get the error "A Communication problem has occurred at the
DB2 administration server" If I try to start the communication server
by issuing the command C:\DBADMIN START I get "DB2 administration
server is already active"
The system has been used for several months with no problem, this
problem occurred last week.
I would appreciate any suggestion on how to solve this problem.

Please do a db2level and post the results.

I don't know what you mean by freeware version, unless you are talking about
DB2 Express-C, but that was first released as release 8.2.

If you have the "try and buy" 8.1 FP 0, then you either need to get DB2
Express-C, or install FP14 on top of your existing try and buy.

Hi All, I'm using the .NET performance counters to calculate the network utilization. But this value exceeds 100%. In most of the cases, it is very similar to the one shown in the task-manager. But when I try to measure the network utilization with a particular utility that sends large data, then the values that I get exceed 100%. Even in the task-manager it shows similar graph (graph goes up above the 100% line and disappears and then...

Hi, I inherited a web project from other programmer. I notice on my dev machine every time I request a page in IE or FF the CPU jumps to 100%, all utilized by asp_wp.exe. I did some researches on the web, somebody suggests this could be due to database connection not properly disposed. I happened to see the following code snippet in my web project:

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
