Just wondering if it was possible to xquery an xml file
to retrieve all elements that had a given text value
or all elements where any attribute had a value of interest.
I guess I could figure out a roughshod way to get the elements but I'm not sure about the attributes
Thanks

Is there an "official" Java-API (from SUN) or an xml.apache.org based API
for dealing with XQuery terms?

Hi.
Can someone tell me when xslt, xpath, xquery are appropriate technologies to
consider?
I really know nothing about xslt except it is about transforming xml, (but I'm
about to embark on a learning campaign).
As you may have noticed from other postings, I know a very small amount about
XQuery (and thus XPath).

Dr. Daniela Florescu of the W3C XML Query Working Group suggests a
direction the industry should be taking with XML and XQuery processing:
http://www.webservicessummit.com/People/DFlorescu.htm#DeclarativeXML
Dana describes XML as more than a technology for documentation and data
interchange. She suggests we haven't exploited XML to its fullest
potential. Dana emphasizes the use of declarative programming instead
of processing XML with...

Hi,
I want to read records from a database and export it in an arbitrary
format.
My idea was to feed a class with a String array fetched from the
database and let
this class fire SAX events as processor input.
The basic class hierarchy is:

Hello,
I want to process big files (e.g. 100 MB) with XQuery. Are there XQuery
processors that work in a "SAX-like" way (and not DOM-like), i.e. which
don't assume that they have everything in memory ?
Thanks for any help

Background:
I am trying to "merge" some attributes into an existing XML column in my MS SQL 2005 database. The general idea is that I have an XML column in a table and I would like to update/delete some values while leaving the other values alone. I am designing this database/table/column so maybe I could use attributes or elements/nodes, the choice is ultimately mine. The one constraint is that I have to allow for customized name/value pairs....

I'm wondering if anyone knows a trick to iterate a FLWR expression
across a literal string that is delimited by spaces.
e.g.
for $x in ("apple orange banana blueberry")
obviously, this doesn't work, since the string is delimited by a space
rather than being well-formed XML.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
