Hello,
I have problem running the db2cc (Command Center) on AIX. I obtain SQL1224N
error when trying to display some windows of the CC. Eg. I try to create
database - OK, but then I try to watch details of some Bufferpool or
tablespace and obtain this message.. I issue "db2admin start" before running
db2cc.
I am running db2cc on XWindows.
AIX 5L
DB2 Workgroup Unlimited Edition 8.2.1 (newest fixpack)

Did you look up the error message in the manual? you can also use:
db2 ? SQL1224N
from a command window to look at the explanation and potential fixes.

Yes, I did, and, basing on my experience, have no idea what could be wrong.
But should I perform a tuning when I have just installed DB2 with patches
and want to run db2cc to take a look into DB ?

The install should have created icons on the x-windows desktop for the GUI
programs. If they didn't (or even if they did) it would probably be easier
to install the Administrative Client on Windows and run the Control Center
remotely.
If you really want to do it from AIX, try installing the Administrative
Client on AIX and see if the icons are created. Use the GUI install.

Hello Mark,
Thank for your answer but it seems to me that it is not corresponding with
the problem I described. I have no problem with installation of db2cc. I am
also able to run it. The problem is that db2 seems to be not enough tuned to
be able to run its basic administration utility.
The Administration client on Windows is really the better idea but currently
not available in my envirinment.

I am not sure I know what you mean. Even if db2cc is installed, it must be
set up correctly with environment variables correctly to run under
x-windows. If there is not an icon set up with the install, it makes it
tougher to run without errors. But I am not sure exactly what error you are
getting (I saw the message number, but I expect you to post the full error
description on this forum).
I am not sure how you can use the database if you can't reach it from a
windows client, but I guess that is none of my business.

Hello,
According to the IBM website : http://www-
106.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-ss3-db2/
If you are using Red Hat 9, with its new thread library, Native POSIX
Thread Library (NPTL), then the Java installation code used by DB2 will
not work. You can force compatibility mode by setting the environment
variable LD_ASSUME_KERNEL to 2.2.5 before starting the install program

Is there a way to run the db2-generated HADR-create script outside of
DB2CC beyond the obvious? My DB2CC generates the HADR script and then
abends because of a java error meaning I can't finish my HADR
creation.
In looking at the script it isn't necessarily obvious which commands
should run on the primary server and which should be run on the
standby server.

I have an AMD Redhat 3.0 machine that is 64 bit.
My kernel level is 2.4.21-21.0.1.
I downloaded C58SBML.tar off of IBM's website. C58DBML.tar is listed as
the 64 bit version of DB2 with the 2.4 Linux kernel support.
I perform the install as root and the install works line. DB2 seems to
be installed with no errors.
When I log in as db2inst1 and try to run db2cc I get the following
error.

Hi all,
I installed following pkg. on my laptop (Fedora Core 6) :
db2exc_91_LNX_x86.tar.gz
After resolving some dependency-problems the install was fine.
(I understand that a laptop isn't very well suited for DB2 but .... I
just want to play around :-) )
After the install I started the control center. This also went

I was using DB2 9.1 on Linux which came with db2cc
The same level of DB2 on AIX 5.3 with the same install options and there
is no db2cc in the sqllib.
I know that db2cc is a script so trying to run the command on the AIX
box gives:
$ db2javit -j:CC -i: -l: -o:"-Xmx128m -Xms8m" -a:"$*"
The java class is not found: CC

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
