Help! I'm an undergraduate doing an MFC assignment using Visual
Studio 7 and the resource editor has suddenly starting doing strange
stuff. I created a number of new menu items, and the Resource.h file
now contains #define statements for them that just don't work, for
instance:
#define ID_EDIT_INCR 0
#define ID_EDIT_ADD 0
All new Menu IDs are given the value of 0 instead of 130 or whatever

I wrote a Web app and someone else now wants a copy of it (and run it on the
same server)... and eventually others may want copies as well. Rather than
copying all of the gif/assets to each app's folder structure I was wondering
what I can to to enable all copies of the application on the server to share
the same assets folder.
thanks

Hi,
is it possible to implement custom resource managers for ASP.NET 2.0 so
that strings can be read from a database (for example)?
Ideally, it should be possible to configure the custom resource manager
in web.config, so that it replaces the default resource manager. Using
the <%$ ... %> syntax should read the strings via the custom resource
manager, e.g. when used like this:

I hope there is an easy way to do this...
I'm doing a database which keeps track of things that people or
entities (entities = trusts and companies) own, among other things.
When assets are owned by individuals, its easy. I have a table listing
the various assets, a table listing the various people and entities and
a third table with the IDs of the people/entities and the IDs of the
assets they own.

Someone please help! I cannot for the life of me get a web resource in
asp.net 2.0 to return any content.
I know I have correctly embedded my resources (because I can manually get
the resources from my assemblies at runtime.)
The URLs I get back are valid (they throw no errors) but they return zero
content. I get a broken page from text/html resources and broken images, etc.
I can get an error if I use an invalid resource name, so I...

I've got a couple images in my project that I need to pass to some other
assemblies. I waned to pass them as an Image object. I was hoping there
was some way that I could load the images files without needing to use the
full path and Image.FromFile() - it seems that there should be some way to
reference assets in the project without giving their full path. Anyone know
how?
For example, I would like to do something like this:
Image...

Hi
I have been messing around with some plugins for the Screwturn Wiki engine
http://www.screwturn.eu/
Basically a plugin is one or more classes in an DLL which is loaded at
runtime
I'd like to be able to use my own resource files but at the same point allow
other users to add new translations without the need of recompiling
sattelite assemblies or embed the resource files in my DLL

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
