How to compare objects between two database?

I am trying to find a nice way to compare objects (tables, colums,
indexes, primary and fk) between my production and my test dabatase.

I would like to known if their are tricks or tools available to help me
with this besides starting to compare systems tables contents?

db2look is what you're looking for. After you've run it to generate
definitions for all or part of the two databases, you can use all kinds
of third party tools (including plain old diff) to check the two files
for differences.

I have to write a .Net application which can compare SQL Databases including things like: - DB structure, PK's, FK's, indexes and types of indexes i.e. should be able to detect if the same index has cascade set on one db and not on another, or unique on one and not the other, Constraints, Triggers, Stored procs, Users, Roles. I downloaded the SQL Data Compare 3.0 application 14 day trial and it seemed really good however does a bit more...

Is there a way to compare two databases one being an old database and the second being a new database, I will update the old database's objects to match the new database's objects? Is there SQL code that could do this easily? How do you do this if you deal with the same scenario? Thank you

I am trying to compare values coming out of a database record with known default values. The defaults are in an array of type object (because they can be of any basic data type, I am not working with weird stuff, just strings, int, bools and DataTime values) My fields values for this record, for convenience are also in an array of objects. Now I am trying to write code like the following. private void processData (object d, object a)...

I've got different result when comparing two strings using "==" and string.Compare(). The two strings seems to have same value "1202002" in the quick watch, and both have the same length 7 which I have tried to print out by debug.writeline(). But the "==" operator results false, and string.Compare() results true. Somebody helps me!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
