list database partition......

Hi All ,

I have a UDB 8.1 to look after, when i check on the DB partition groups, it
shows me only 2 groups ( as shown below) & misses IBMTEMPGROUP !!

I checked the IBM official documentation, they do say that when used show
details, "IBMTEMPGRO UP" is not shown, but they do not give a reason as to
why it is not shown.

Anybody has an idea about this? Purely for information sake.

Regards,
GDR.

db2 => list database partition groups

DATABASE PARTITION GROUP
----------------------------
IBMCATGROUP
IBMDEFAULTGROUP
IBMTEMPGROUP

3 record(s) selected.

db2 => list database partition groups show detail

DATABASE PARTITION GROUP PMAP_ID DATABASE PARTITION NUMBER IN_USE
---------------------------- ------- ---------------------------- ------
IBMCATGROUP 0
0 Y
IBMDEFAULTGROUP 1 0 Y

2 record(s) selected.

Hi all, I have a list whose length is a multiple of 3. I want to get a list of tuples each of which has 3 consecutive elements from the original list, thus packing the list into smaller packets. Like this: l = tups =

here's another interesting algorithmic exercise, again from part of a larger program in the previous series. Here's the original Perl documentation: =pod merge($pairings) takes a list of pairs, each pair indicates the sameness of the two indexes. Returns a partitioned list of same indexes.

I store sql-commands in a database table. In the first step I get the sql command out of the database table with embedded sql. In the second step I try to execute the command, which i got from the database table, using dynamic sql. Executing 'EXEC SQL DESCRIBE SELECT LIST FOR S INTO select_dp;' the error code -2149 is returned That means "Specified partition does not exist". Does anybody know if it is a database problem or a problem of

I am trying to write a C# backend program that will handle the database maintenance that I would otherwise have to do via Microsoft's Analysis Services front end GUI Wizards. Currently I am having a problem with recreating the SliceValue. The value is a time dimension and should equate to ... and instead it is these same values, but instead of being seperated by periods it has some sort of non-displayable character (maybe a newline)...

I have virtual hosted users on a server and some of them have a postgresql database. I'm concerned about the outside possibility that a user could create an infinite loop and fill up the partition on which everyone's database resides. Anyway, it occured to me that I could create a special file for each database user of limited size, and make a filesystem on top of that file. The file could be owned by the user. Then, each user could have...

Hi all, I am new to the list and I didn't want to seem rude at all so I wanted to ask if this was okay first. I have a program I have written in perl which uses a postgresSQL database as the backend. The program works but the performance is really bad. I have been reading as much as I can on optimizing performance but still it isn't very reasonable. At one point I had my program able to process 175,000 records in 16min 10sec on a...

Hi, On a multi-partition instance, can you create a database on a single parition? How??? The db architects want to use one instance for four databases where only one is big enough for a multi-partition. The other three are small. I'd like to create them only on one partition but can't find any documention on how to do this.

In an interview for an embedded software position recently I was asked to write code, in C, for printing the contents of a linked list backwards. After a few minutes I came up with the recursive solution. Being that recursion is frowned upon in embedded software, the answer was not what the interviewer expected, but alas it was correct. I asked some friends how they would have answered and another answer is to reverse the list and then...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
