Hi,
In the process of localizing the 'regions' table, we added three new
tables. The localized data will be stored in the TokenKeys and
TokenValues tables. It would be easier if we did away with the
TokeyKeys/TokenValues tables and just added a localeid in the regions
table, but this is the desired schema by the client. Here's the
schema:
Table: regions

Hiya. I'm _sure_ this is an FAQ, but Googling hasn't produced the
answer in a way I can make sense out of. I know I should get this, but
so far no way...
I'm creating tables and doing queries in Perl, and Nulls have started
to bother me greatly. The first issue is, as far as I understand it, a
column should be NOT NULL if it is necessary (required) data.
Now, if a column doesn't have to be NOT NULL; that is, it's not
_required_ data,...

I don't know enough math to demonstrate that any numerical operation
with a null should yield a null; although I would guess that it's true.
I just don't buy it, however, when dealing with strings and nulls. In a
simple table with first, middle and last name columns, I would infer
that a null value in the middle name column means the HR person forgot
to ask. A zero length string, however, tells me HR did ask and there is
no middle name....

Can someone point me to some more information or perhaps show an example
of returning a recordset from a plpgsql function. I'd like to send an
argument or arguments to the function, do some queries to return a set
of records. I've done several functions that return one value of one
type, but nothing that returns a set.

Hello again,
as I am new to PostgreSQL (great pice of softwork btw) this probably won't
be the last question.
I access PostgreSQL from Java via the PostgreSQL JDBC driver. I am
currently building a little framework that provides basic CRUD
operations by mapping class properties to database columns. All my
primary keys are artificial and built by sequences (datat type bigserial).
Now I need to (re-)read the row that was...

I'm building my own crosstab table.
If a crosstab field has no data in the entire field (as a result of
filtering), I don't want to show that field. Is there a way to do
this in a qry or frm object?
I'd use a pivot, but PT are too slow, and they sometimes crash with
amount of data (rows and columns) I'm talking about ..or I get an
exceeds capacity error message.
Thanks
Jerry

Hi. I'm more-or-less a C newbie. I thought I had pointers under control until
I started goofing around with this:
================================================================================
/* A function that returns a pointer-of-arrays to the calling function. */
#include <stdio.h>
int *pfunc(void);

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
