db2admin Windows Account Losing is Administrator Rights

All-

I am having a problem where my DB2 administrator account on Windows
(db2admin) is losing its local Administrator privledges. This happens
randomly throughout the day with no ryhme or reason.

Of course this causes tons of problems while things are running
throughout the day (LDAP is using DB2).

I continually must go into the Computer Management>Loca l Users... and
add the permission back to the account.

Any advice would ROCK!

I am running DB2 8.1 on Windows 2000 SP3. I have not yet been able to
apply Fixpack 5 for DB2, but that does not seem to have the solution
in its list of fixes.

Your local settings are being overwritten by those of the domain
controller. You need to set your db2 security on the domain controller
then it will be propergated down to the work station or stand alone
server thereafter. There is a very good pdf on exploiting the windows
environment for db2, including security issues but I do not know the
url I am afraid. Do a search on the idm support site of db2 for the
doc, it is well worth the read.

You have a (Windows) group policy in effect on the domain; this will be
applied regularly. Go through the group policy definitions on your domain
and ensure you either have the security rights defined correctly in the
policies that override account rights and memberships, or remove or disable
any policy definition that will overwrite your local administration rights.
Since, by default, there are no group policies defined that overwrite local
administrator rights, you may need to talk with your local AD administrators
to have them modify whatever policy they have added.

There are analysis tools for determining the results of group policies, that
will help you find the definition that leads to an effect, and which may be
useful if a lot of group policy objects have been defined.

Note: you will not find a fix listed for DB2, as 1) DB2 isn't involved and
2) there is no bug.

Hi, My Windows account do not have administrator priviliges anymore even though the user account window accessible from the control panel claims I do. I did my first time programming with setting ACL:s. I thought I had completed my application since it seemed to work fine setting the ACL:s the way I wanted to.
