Set up my own bespoke software business

I have been a software developer for nigh on 20 years now but would now like to go solo, ideally working from home as I may be moving abroad. I would consider contracting/temp jobs but would prefer to register my own company as I have a few ideas about creating/selling bespoke software. I have the skills and believe I could achieve everything remotely. The systems would generally be things like purchase ordering/stock/customer management systems that would be tailored to suit the customers needs and would utilise SQL Azure.

Does anyone know the best way to get myself noticed so I can win business? Would you advise setting up my own company website, or are there any sites currently out there that I could take advantage of? Similar to PeoplePerHour but offering larger contracts.

Thanks
