Need Career Guidance

2 New Member
Hi,

I have done my BCA and have worked as software support engineer for 6 months and after that now iam working in Business services since four months and having a plan of doing MCA Correspondance.
I wanted to know weather it will be valued or no because in future i want to go into IT firms and also suggest me some certifications in Java & SQL.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Austin

All experience is good experience. I have found some of my previous career paths very useful in surprising ways when developing.

However, what an employer may see as valuable can be different. It all depends on the employer and the field they are in. Strict IT Development firms are usually interested in hiring specific programmers to fill their skill base.

There are a lot more jobs in the IT sector than just with IT firms though. It is difficult to know what the future will hold but if you are interested in following certain lines of education and work experience I say go for it. You never know what the future may bring.

Master's degree is always good for any job. Both experience and master's degree always play an important role to get a job in any field.

Hello all; I have used dBASE, and other computer languages/databases, for years. They all have a logical field type. However, the version of MySQL used by the ISP hosting my site does not support a "logical" field type. It does support ENUM and I have set some up in a couple of tables that accept the values 'T' and 'F'. Sometimes they work like a logical field: if ($myrow) echo 'New';

Hello Everyone I am wanting to make a career shift, and need some guidance as to what to be studying. I am currently a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst. In my work I have needed to write several scripts in VBA for use in MS Access or ArcView. Writing these scripts has shown me that I want to be programming and not working as a GIS Analyst or Database administrator. What do you suggest I start learning to make such a career...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
