issues with overloading the + operator

Hi,
Am trying to overload the operator + like this:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Object operator+(Object const& a, Object const& b)
this is the error that the intelliscence gives me:

too many parameters for this operator function.

I look it up everywhere and its defined that way...

please help

thank's in advance

The only way this can happen is when operator+ with two arguments is a member function. Member functions have the this pointer as an invisible first argument. This would give you three arguments and that would cause the error you are getting.

Be sure your operato+ with two arguments is not part of your class.

It can be a friend in your class but not a member.
