Hi i would like to create a file using c++ however the extension of the file will be store in a variable and could differ. I have got the below code but im unsure how to add the variable for the file extension, does anyone have any ideas?

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.
  2. char FILE_EXTENSION [3];
  3.
  4. HANDLE FileCreate;
  5. FileCreate = CreateFile("c:\\temp\\file", GENERIC_WRITE, 0, NULL,
  6. CREATE_ALWAYS, FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL, NULL);
  7.
  8.

The keyword is "string concatenation". There are functions in C and C++ for that.

Be sure to have enough space in you char buffer (i.e. 4 instead of 3 chars) for the extra '\0' string terminator. All of the string utilities expect to see this terminator. Also, you must make sure this ending value is set.
