How to convert a String ^ to char [] array?

1 New Member
Hi, I am studying c++ in Visual c++ 2005. Please help with 2 issue.

1) How to convert String ^a to char b[30]?

2) Are fprintf , fscanf, fwrite, fread not take any managed type string? if yes, how? If no, any other function we can read and write the file?

Sincerely,

Thanks.

Heya, JoyMassMan. Welcome to TSDN!

The experts on this site are more than happy to help you with your problems but they cannot do your assignment/program for you. You have not asked a question. Attempt the assignment/program yourself first and post questions regarding any difficulties you have or about a particular function of the code that you don't know how to achieve.

Please read the Posting Guidelines and particularly the Coursework Posting Guidlines.

Then when you are ready post a new question in this thread.

OK are we talking about converting C++ style strings to a char[]? Or is this something that is more advanced? because if it is just C++ string to char[], then there is a member function of strings that can do it for you isn't there? c_str()? But I assume that you won't tell him the answer because it is much more complicated than this.

It appears String is a C# or Java string. To convert to a C-style char array you would need to research interoperability. I don't think there is anything in the sandbox that let's you step out of it.
