build errors

I have this error when I run a build file .Can you pls help me.

config.status: error: cannot find input file: Makefile.in
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.

r u running the command in the directory where makefile is present?

sh build.sh
