Declaration Syntax Error

HAI,
IAM GETTING THIS ERROR IN MY PGM
CAN ANYONE CLARIFY IT

main()
{
message();
printf("\n cry");
}
message()
{
printf("\nsmile");

If you define your function below main function, as you did, you should put the function prototype above the main fuction. Off-record: Always give the function the return type. I modified it as follow:
void message();
int main()
{
message();
printf("\n cry\n");
return 0;
}
void message()
{
printf("\nsmile");
}

function is always declared before the main function and its return type must be defined.
