static and function calls help+

in the ablove program I have declared a static global variable init .
I have assigned in func1 the value of init to be 7.
i need to know why this value is not taken for the next function call ie., func2

In the functions the parameter (init) hides the static global variable (init). The first
function assigns a new value to the parameter: *not* to the static global variable.
