Replace a string in a file

208 New Member
Ok, so I have a file of information that includes a number of pieces of data. Basically I want to change one number (increment it by one) and then rewrite the text file.

How do I search through file to find the specific line and then replace that line?

Try to refine your problem into an algorithm.
Start with "what" you wnt the entire program to do (as you have posted), and then refine into steps that describe "how"....
Sometimes it may be easier to start in fairly broad terms eg:
Open file
Edit Data
Write file

This already suggest you should look into file-handling (if you're not familiar with it), and consider further exactly how you need to edit the data.....

Thanks I've decided how I'm doing it. Just go through each instance of a class and print off the entire file each time. (easiest way)
