C99 new features

I need a reference that shows the new features of C99 over C90. I have
found some references (web pages) but after reading them I ran into
some examples that were not mentioned in them. For example, the C99
initializers. Do you recommend a certain book ? Thanks.

Harbinson & Steele, "C: A Reference Manual", 5th Edition.

n1124.pdf (Google it) is a draft of the C99 standard. It includes
some changes that were applied after the standard itself was released,
marked with change bars. It's freely available. The Foreword (pages
xi, xii, and xiii) lists the major changes from the previous standard.

There's a brief list at:

<http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg14/www/newinc9x.htm>

An updated version of that list appears in the latest working draft of
the C standard, which also contains more complete information on each of
the features: :-)
