Is there a Freeware version of C++ compiler

Hello,

I'm a trying to learn C++ on my own prior to classes next fall. Is
there a freeware C++ compiler out there somewhere that I could use.

There's also Microsoft's free Visual C++ 2005 "Express" Edition:
