VC++ or .Net

hello to all, i am pursuing B.Tech, IInd year from India in Computer
Science. I have to select a course either VC++ or .NET. I had a little
knowledge about these courses. Would you ppl tell or suggest me what
should I do, please explain your selection, as it will help me to
decide. One importent thing is that I had done C/C++ in my previous
semesters.

Some of my friends are pursuing the same course in Electronics branch
facing the same problem, but they have one more choice VC++, .NET &
Wireless(something related to it, don't know exactly). Please also
tell, what should they opt from these 3, and again I request, please
please please briefly explain your decision as it will help us to
choose well. They had also done C/C++ in their previous semesters.

If you intend only ever working with Windows development then opt
for ".NET". If you think you maybe working anywhere else then I'd
recommend C++. The reason for this is ".NET" is a Microsoft specific
development kit, whereas C++ is not. Then again if you're likely to
work on Unix/Linux boxes then Perl, Python, Java and scripting in
general are extremely useful.

Hi Ashu,

Both VC++ and ,Net are good. We have plentty openings in both
of them. Anyway, .Net is so good than VC++.
It is very difficult to get a job in VC++. So, according to my
knowledge VC++. So, go to .Net in very good inistitute. So, soon u will
get a job once u come out from the B.Tech. C++ knowledge helps alot
while learning .Net.
Coming to U'r Friends, Wireless technology or Embedded or
Telecom-domain or System and Signals are so good because those are
coming from Electronics back ground.

Hi .

I think if you want to get a job then choose the .Net

Because VC++ is going to wash out !

But if you want to study the Windows core technology I recommend you
read
the <Windows Programming>

VC++ is build on it .

BTW : My msn : ch******@gmail.com

I am a student too , make a fiend if you like .....
