I've got a routine that loads a tree control.
Works a-ok the first time around, then bombs the second. Works the
third, bombs on the fourth....i.e. it works every other time it is
invoked.
Error# always the same: -2214 741 7848, but the message varies between
"Method 'Add' of object INodes failed." and "The object invoked has
disconnected from it's clients." The first one is more common.

In a previous post in this NG (Oct 98)

Henry Craven says that he was investigating a
relationship between the presence or absence of
a "Me!" prefix, the value of the Top propery of a
control, and the occurrence of an invalid runtime error
"The control or subform control is too large for this location"

Hi,
I have a panel that I load user Control in no problem. The problem
arrises when I do a post back on one of these user controls. I have
button it does a click event. In this click event I will do some
database updates, then I will use reflection to call a method in the
parent (this.page) to load the new user control. Its at this point
after it loads the new user control that it throws the error "The
control must be placed inside...

A quick search of this group and its FAQ, and elsewhere, have not
answered this question to my satisfaction. Apologies if I missed
something obvious, either in the literature or my reasoning.
Can someone tell me why "->" exists? The compiler knows the difference
between a structure and a pointer to a structure, so why can't it just
let me write "foo.bar" in both cases and not have to go back and
rewrite things when I later decide I want...

I have a .NET 1.1 web page with a DataGrid containing a TemplateColumn
that contains a DropDownList.
I need to fire an event when the selected item in the DropDownList
changes for the current DataGrid row, and I'm having trouble figuring
out how to do this.
Other control types I have defined the "CommandName" property in the
aspx file. The event returns the index of the row that contains the
control, and I can thus pull more data out...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
