overriding the dynamic library

Hi,

I wonder how can we override the dynamic library loaded by ld on start
up.(dynamic linked application). so that linker uses the new library
to find symbols.

Is it possible to do.

Hi,

you can set a default library path while linking or set the environment
to override the dynamic library:

Thaks for that..

It works when v set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to latest lib(lib we want),but
this happens on start up.

can we do this after loader did his job, by finding the address of
loaded library, and loading our library into this area.

I have an executable which links to a static library (.a). I want to provide a hook by overriding a function part of this static library. Eg: I have a function "int blkstart(int i)" in this static library. I want to override this by having another function which is exactly similar in signature including name. When somebody call this function, control should automatically come to my overriddent function. Inside this function, based on...

Hi, I'm very new to C# and .Net, I've been working with it for about a month. My experience has been mainly with Delphi 5 (not .Net). What I'm looking for is for a shortcut way to override a property without actually having to reimplement the get and set methods. In other words, override the the property without changing the functionality of the base property and without explicitly having to reimplement the get and set methods to make it do...

We have an application converted from v1.1 Framework to v2.0. The executable references a class library which in turn has a web reference. The web reference 'URL Behavior' is set to dynamic. We added an entry to the executable's .exe.config file to specify the URL, and under the 1.1 framework this worked well. Unfortunately, this is not working under the 2.0 framework. I see in the Reference.cs file under the web service reference the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
