Hi all, I have written a Python huffman Encoding Module, for my own
amusement. I thought it might be educational/entertaining for other
people, so I've put it on my website and wrote about it a little.

Your comments are highly appreciated!
cheers,

I am having a hard time making a Program in C/C++ that uses the Huffman
Compression to compress a file.
I have a file "Hello World" That i need to compress.
can someone please give me an example of how to do it with huffman
compression.

I have ran into a little snag on an old database application I am converting. Out of 63 tables(all seperate files) , two of
them are compressed using Huffman Compression. I have been searching all over the net
(don't hit me too hard if you know a place I didn't look) and MSDN and cannot find anything that explains how to use Huffman in
VB.NET.
I need to extract the data on the fly from the files(tables) using Huffman and then put the data...

hi all,
I'm trying to implement Huffman coding on letters of a string. I've
written functions to define the initial leaf nodes (letters and their
frequencies) and to sort them. I've also put together the actual tree
with its appropriate nodes and child nodes.
however I'm having some trouble developing a means of traversing the
tree itself to create the binary key table. i.e., how would I know how
many levels the tree has? this...

The other thread got too long so decided to start a new one.
Got my huffman tree working and am now moving onto encoding and decoding my given text file.
My idea now is to print out all the leaf nodes into a string and split them up using tokens to get my ascii value and the huffman code and store into a collection for reference when encoding.
Just got some questions on this:
1. Is there anyway to look through the huffman tree for the...

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to make a compression application using the Huffman Algorithm but i'm not sure on how to write to a file the output.
I have a binary sequence associated to every character in the input file.
Now the problem is:
- I create a binary string based on the input file.
- Then I have to write the compressed file, but I have no idea on how to work with my binary string.

So i have written a code to encode a string of a select amount of letters into huffman code.
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
string Huffman(char letter);
string Huffman_word(string word);

Hello everyone, i'm writing a C program that will read a text file and then encode the characters using huffman algorithm. So far i've read the files, built a tree, and now I'm building the strings to be used in encoding, Where i'm having problem is my BuildStrings function, instead of printing the 0s and 1s I appended to the array it outputs a series of 0s and 1s. Below is the BuildStrings function and the main function.
/*This funtion...

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. However, people are often confused as to whether an ONU can Work As a Router. In this blog post, we’ll explore What is ONU, What Is Router, ONU & Router’s main usage, and What is the difference between ONU and Router. Let’s take a closer look !

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
