My "C:\" is getting full. What's the best way to
install "wxWindows" without taking up 115 MB from my "C:\" ?
Why do the following:
MS Visual Studio, wxWindows, Borland C++,
Stingray Objective Studio, ARM SDT, etc.
like to install source code to the "C:\" drive?

Hi all,
My question is: How do you tackle with mixing
Unicode and non-Unicode parts of your application?
Context:
========
The PEP 3000 says
"Make all strings be Unicode, and have a separate bytes() type."

Hi, all:
My VC6 MFC application is recognized as a Unicode application by the driver
manager, so when I read nchar fileds in MS SQL Server database, the
SQL_WCHAR does not convert to SQL_CHAR, and the application ASSERT failure
at CRecordset::GetDefaultFieldType function.
But I don't have "_UNICODE" defined, and have no "W" suffix functions
called, and my old version program compiled on Feb 2004 just work fine.
(source code lost...

Hi,
I am handling a mixed languages text file encoded in UTF-8. Theres is
mainly French, English and Asian languages. I need to detect every
asian characters in order to enclose it by a special tag for latex.
Does anybody know if there is a unicode "table of character"
implementation in python? I mean, I give a character and python replys
me with the language in which the character occurs.
Thanks in advance

I am trying to compile my project but it is compiling for Unicode. I
checked the preprocessor definitions and there is no UNICODE reference
but I see /D "_UNICODE" /D "UNICODE" in the command line.
I even tried clearing all of the preprocessor definitions and the /D
"_UNICODE" /D "UNICODE" entry in the command line still remain.
How do I clear this?

Hi,
Apologies first as I am not a unicode expert.... indeed I the details
probably totally elude me. Not withstanding: how can I convert a
binary string containing UTF-8 binary into a python unicode string?
cutdown example:
$ cat ./uc.py
#!/usr/bin/env python
imported="\304\246\311\231\316\257\316\271\303\222

Hello everyone!
I got a problem with creating new line...
I tried this: lstrcpy(NewLineIdr, TEXT("\r\n"));
I already tried this: NewLineIdr = 0x000D; NewLineIdr =
0x000A; NewLineIdr = 0x0000;
I need it to use it in my saving procedure because I need to create
tabullary text file. But my effort usually results in one or two small

Does
text = unicode(text)
make a copy of a Unicode string, or is that essentially a
free operation if the input is already Unicode?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
