I am sure it is possible...But you have to ask yourself what would be easier to do: have each program using IPC parse the XML whenever they want to use it, or have the program which is originally loading the XML parse it for them.
This isn't as straight-forward as it sounds; depending on the type of programs you are working on, you may want to keep in in XML for quick retrieval.

Hello, I see that it is possible to use mmapfile.pyd of win32all. The same is mentioned in http://www.python.org/windows/win32/#mmapfile. Unfortunately I could not trace any example using mmapfile. Any example or link to an example will be of help. I am interested to learn how to achieve efficient sharing of data between separate processes using mmapfile.

When I first discovered shared memory (between multiple processes) I immediately started thinking of how to build my own VM subsystem + locking mechanisms for a large single block of memory. This seems like one option, the other appears to be just having each "object" you want to share be a shared mem space to itself: allocate objects into a defined shared mem space. But here you have many many objects being shared. Having a VM...

Hi all, I'm getting very confused about how DB2 uses shared memory and I wonder if someone could clarify matters for me, please ? We are running 32bit DB2 V7.2 FP9 under AIX 4.3.3 on a machine with 64 Gb of memory with a single non-partitioned database using extended storage and with intra-parallelism enabled. I've been experimenting with changing various parameters in an attempt

I’m wrote a small DLL that used the FreeImage.DLL (that can be found at http://www.codeproject.com/bitmap/graphicsuite.asp). I also wrote a small console application in C++ (unmanaged) that uses the DLL above. Now the application, together with the above DLL’s is successfully loading a TIF image file (62992 x 113386 Pixels, Huffman RLE compression, 3200 x 3200 DPI resolution, binary colored (1 Bit Per Pixel), file on disk size 43.08...

I am running two servers with a hardware network load balancing device. I know that to share session information between the two servers I need to implement some type of SQL based session information, but I would simply like to share the SessionID. Mainly for some logging applications. The SessionID does currently seem to be shared between the two servers and I haven't changed anything with my configuration or implemented anything...

Hello, I am testing a web application (using the DBX PHP function to call a Postgresql backend). I have 375Mb RAM on my test home box. I ran ab (apache benchmark) to test the behaviour of the application under heavy load. When increasing the number of requests, all my memory is filled, and the Linux server begins to cache and remains frozen. ab -n 100 -c 10 http://localsite/testscript

Hello. We are having a problem here trying to compile C# applications. Only one developer has a problem where they attempt to compile the application and the compiler complains about being out of memory and unable to find a dll - webengine.dll. They have tried rebooting, gettling latest, and a few other things. We can not determine what is at the heart of this problem. They have Visual Studio.Net 2005 with .Net Framework 2.0 SP1. The...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
