implementing mouse

19 New Member
I want to implement mouse for my menu driven program. Where will I get a simple mouse.h header file and instructions as to how to use it etc.? Also I need different kinds of pointers and it should not be in a way that I am confined to just a single kind of mouse pointer. I am very much a novice to C++ and graphics programming in Turbo C++ environment. So please send me instructions which are not very compilcated or in other words reasonably easy to figure out. .

Hi all, I'm working on an educational applet for a child with special needs. He's got a bit of a trick to make my life more difficult... To interact with the applet he needs to click on buttons, which is fine most of the time (he comes from a Mac environment, so I accept mouse clicks from the right or left button when he's working on the PC). But every once in a while, he'll press and hold the right mouse button, move onto a JButton,...

Hi, I have included a small listing. The test program opens a panel and show a bitmap. What I want is to when the mouse is over the bitmap panel, I want to trap the left mouse click. The purpose is to get the position of the mouse pointer on the bitmap. However, for some reason, the left (I also tried right) mouse clicks are not intercepted. I new to Python and wxWindows so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having trouble allowing a user to drag an item, whilst also allowing them to click the item. I am using mousedown, mousemove and mouseup. It works if I click the button carefully, but if there is any mouse movement, then it is interpreted as a drag, and the click does not work. What I want is a way to only do the drag if the mouse movement is above a threshold. Is this possible? Here is the basic code: private void...

Hi, I have an interface in vb 6.0. It has a property set member, which takes a parameter by reference. When I try to implement this interface in my vb.net project it gives me an error saying that "cannot implement property set because there is no matching property on interface". I think .NET does not allow parameter to be passed ByRef in property statements. here is my property set statement in vb 6.0 interface called IName

Hi all -- I am a long-time C programmer and "medium-time" C++ programmer, but am brand new to C#. I am creating a simple app using C# and I need help. The app will display a "watermark" on the screen at certain times. When the watermark is visible, it will be on top of all other applications. To get the look I wanted, I created a simple form, imported a bitmap image as the background to the form, and set the opacity to 15%. I set...

Hi everyone! Earlier I asked a question about mouse interaction with a GUI. I have found a pretty comprehensive script that is supposed to work <mod edit: link removed, source inserted>:# This class describes a generic method of drawing rubberbands # on a wxPython canvas object (wxStaticBitmap, wxPanel etc) when # the user presses the left mouse button and drags it over a rectangular # area. It has methods to return the selected area by...

I have the opportunity to rescue a project that uses a mouse to sense the relative position of a machine. The hardware is built...just needs to be programmed. Stop snickering!!! I didn't do it...I just gotta fix it. I need to make some calculations on the measurements and VB6 is my language. Yes, the system mouse will corrupt the measurement, but it's an auditing function and that's acceptable.

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
