compiling templates

There are two strategies for compiling templates: the includsion model
and the seperate compilation model. Could you please tell me which
models vc++ and gcc take, respectively?
Thanks.

AFAIK, only the inclusion model is available for both compilers.

I'm using Slackware GNU/Linux 9.0 on an Intel PII 266 machine that's SMP capable, but only with one CPU installed, and 64MB of RAM. It's basically a small test system that I play around with in some free time before installing things on my larger systems. I am trying to do a fresh install of MySQL 4.0.14 (I removed the previous 3.23.56 installation, including directory structure and leftover components). I'm compiling with these options...

Hi All, I am trying to deploy .aspx (asp.net) web pages to a web server without having to compile them beforehand. Using the CodeBehind approach this does not seem possible as the CodeBehind (.vb file in this case) must be compiled into a class which is then inherited from the .aspx. The reason for this is simple, the designers use Mac OSX and we have set up a number of templates to make it easy for them to create .net sites with...

I'm still trying to do this but it never worked! In a .cpp file, I write the code, and at the beginning, I write: #ifndef MYLIST_H #define MYLIST_H ....to end: #endif What's wrong with it for creating a header file when compiling? Do I need to write in the block the #include (s)?

I am writing a communications library which makes extensive use of the STL and templates in general. I am using VC7 to compile because of alledged better support for templates etc. However, I have not been able to get a simple question answered. Will my C++ code be compiled to IL? (I hope not). Is there anyway in the project settings etc that I can ensure that the binary produced during compilation is a native binary, i.e. NOT IL code...

Hello all. I am a newbie following the C++ tutorial in : http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/templates.html I am unable to succesfully compile any of the examples with templates of this tutorial. I use the standard c++ compiler which comes with ubuntu breezy distro. I guess that somethig is wrong with it or (more likely..) I should use some option when compiling. This is, for instance, one of the codes: // template specialization...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
