Q:structure defined in function

Hi!
I've declared structure in function and inside it template structure. It was
all great untile i presed build. I'm using vc++ .net 2003
the error was something like: You can't declare template inside structure
declared in function.

The question is: Is that defined in standard or vc++ is not fully supporting
standard, and if that is the case is there any compiler
that can build that?

Thx!

I am a little confused with code I am looking at. My c++ book does not go into passing a structure to a function so I pulled out a c book which does. and I do not understand the prototype verses the actual function call. I will post the code below of the structure, the prototype and and function call and if someone can explain this I would...

Can anyone suggest how I would marshal a variable length structure back from an API call. Specifically, I am looking at the WaitForDebugEvent function, which returns a DEBUG_EVENT structure. However, the DEBUG_EVENT structure is defined as a union, and the size and contents vary depending on the event code contained in the header. typedef...

Hi, Some Win APIs expect a structure with a fixed length string. How is it defined in VB .Net 2003? When I try to use the FixedLengthString class I get an "Array bounds cannot appear in type specifiers" error. Thank you, Scott

I want to call a function using my own data type as an argument. The declaration for my function looks like this: Public Function CreateCardInfo(ByVal data As WoData) VB.NET balks at this, saying: 'data' cannot expose a Friend type outside of the Public class 'frmMain'.

Hi all I would like some help with this issue. I am new to VB 2005 (OK with VB6) My problem is that I cannot seem to return a structure from a function. Example: I defined a structure in a class (from which I instantiated an object). One of the object methods is supposed to return a data record (a structure).

I am converting a C-style unit into a C++ class. I have an implementation function that was defined in the .cpp file (so it was hidden from the interface that exists in the .h file). It uses a structure that is only needed by the implementation, so it were declared in the .cpp file, as well. Now, when converting this into a class, the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
