Hello there
I have a strange issue with not being able to publish an application using
one click deployment, unless I am logged in as a particular user.
I took over the development of a C# application from another developer
(let’s call the account Jsmith), and am assuming that Visual Studio etc., and
one click deployment were all initially installed/set-up under the JSmith
account.
I am able to implement one click deployment of the application using the
JSmith account to our live server, however I am unable to implement one click
deployment to our live server using my own account. When I try to do so, it
just keeps prompting me for my user name and password, which it will do
forever unless I cancel the deployment, in which case I get the error “Failed
to connect to http://10.2.1.40/ECUKWin/" with the following error: "Unable to
create the Web ‘http://10.2.1.40/ECUKWin/’ You are not authorized to perform
the current operation”.
The virtual directory into which the application is being published is set
up to allow anonymous access.
As far as I can see, my account has full rights to this server (it is in the
Administrators group, and I have rights to all the relevant directories). I
am unable to see any difference in any security setting between my account
and JSmith.
I am able to publish using my account to our test server
Any ideas where to go from here?
Many thanks
