Read from Web.Config (or Overloads??)

Trial by fire is the only way I learn. Unfort. I got myself stumped
on this part.

If I have a web.config w/ the 'base' paramaters I can read them out
just fine:

ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["<key name>"];

What if I wish to ONLY use that value (say, 1st time around), but when
a new value is passed, use that instead?

I'm using the web.config to pull LDAP base path, login ID & pw (all to
be encrypted of course), for an AD query. But if anything needs to
change, prompt for id/pw & kick off a new DirectoryEntry, etc. Was
thinking, also, of using the search to refine the LDAP path to start
the search FROM.

Any help and/or better setup (I'm SURE there's a 'few' better out
there) I'd much appreciate.

Just FYI (AD - TreeView). If search screen contains <member3>, start
search in that node....

David D.
