Searching for server

i want to create a application which will scan a machine for the
server then attach my database to the server.Is there anyplace i can
find code to do this. Thanks

scan a machine for a server?
Not sure what you mean. If you simply want to scan a network for a
particular machine, you can use one of the directory objects in .NET to scan
shares. You can then attach the database to the file share assuming
permissions are set ok.
