can anyone reccomend good controls for .net charts and graphs?
maybe free for downolad, or limited editions?

Check for infrajistics controls, i have tried them for the last 5 years and
they work well.

I'd also work with janus but the janus object are very hard to debug.

There is a free lite version of ChartFX that you can use for free:
http://www.chartfx.com/sfxNetProducts/cfxLiteForNet/

There is also a commercial version.

You can also try the following:

ZedGraph - http://zedgraph.org/
NPlot - http://netcontrols.org/nplot/

Which are both pretty functional and 100% free.
