Are these bugs in COM Interop with DTS packages?

I am using COM Interop to access and execute a remote DTS package. I have
taken the code from the KB article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319985/EN-US/ and converted this into C#. I
have a managed wrapper class that is a COM event sink capturing the events
from the execute DTS package. I am experiencing 2 strange occurrences with
this managed wrapper class:

Firstly:

I am intermittently receiving OnProgress event from the DTS package,
sometimes we receive events but most of the time we don't - can anyone
explain why?

Secondly and more importantly:

When we do receive an OnProgress event the 'Description' string parameter is
not being terminated correctly. It has large amount '\0' (null) values or
what ever was in memory at the time. Example shown below:

When this package is run from console with the DTSRun package the output for
the above would be 'Scripting Views' as expected. This does not cause the
DTS package to fail but is just reporting error information to our custom
event log. I realise that I could just terminate the string at the first
'\0' but I want to know if these are issues I can resolve properly.

The code for the executing the DTS is shown below:
