Crystal table logoninfo only applies correctly to ADO and not RDO (ODBC)

I am writing a .net application in C# which uses Crystal Reports. Since my
database is on MS Sql Server I needed to apply the connection information to
each table in the database. Even though I applied the logoninfo to a table
the TestConnectivity() method would always fail; I would always get a logon
failed error. If you haven't done this it basically involves looping through
all of the tables in a report object and applying the logon information to
each table.

It turns out that it wasn't working because I used an ODBC (RDO) connection
when designing the report. If I use an OleDB (ADO) conneciton then
everything works as expected when applying logons with the server side code.
Fortunately I figured this out fairly quickly because the examples from
CrystalDecisions found at
http://www.businessobjects.com/produ...lkthroughs.asp
worked; the connection type was the difference I found between their reports
and mine.

Since I found many posts with the same problem and no solutions I thought
I'd post this in case anyone else has the same problem.
