C# ADO MD Error

I'm trying to do some ADO MD programming (ADO.NET MD isn't out yet). I'm
hitting two errors which seem to be separate issues so I've posted them
in separate threads.

On my local machine, I do:
ADODB.Connection connection = new ADODB.Connection();
connection.Open(connectionString, "", "", 0);

If I use a regular SQL Server (non-OLAP) connection string, this works fine:
"Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local);Initial Catalog=SomeDB;User
Id=sa;Password=xxxx;"

If I use an OLAP connection string such as:
"Provider=MSOLAP;Data Source=(local);Initial Catalog=SomeCatalog"

It throws a "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException" with message:
"Unspecified error"

I've tried referencing ADO 2.1, ADO 2.5 and ADO 2.7; they all get the
same result.

I've also tried a variety of connection strings including
"Provider=MSOLAP" and "Provider=MSOLAP.2" and copying connection strings
out of Microsoft Office tools. They all result in this extremely
unhelpful error.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
