Recording from multiple channels of a capture card (DirectShow)

1 New Member
Hi there,

I'm using directshow to capture video from eight channels of a capture card. I'm using eight threads, and instantiating a full package of filters for each.
My problem is that I'm using to much memory and processing.
Can anybody help me reducing it?

Is there a video module so that I can write a Linux Python script to record video coming over USB video cams? What about these side-thoughts: * What about recording multiple streams over multiple USB ports? (Think in the context of a security system.) * What about lossy compression?

Dear all, I've got a video capture device. Device manager shows "nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal)" driver in "Sound, video and game controllers" category. Also, Windows Movie Maker, and other standard video capture tools can record video from the device. But, I've got no idea how to read transmitted data in a C# application. All I'm gonna do is to show the real-time movie on an appropriate control on my form.

Hi, i have two applications, which communicates very extrem together. With the IPC-Channel i receive often the messages like "all instances of the requested pipe are busy". So i want to use multiple Channels to communicate, maybe 10 Connections. For this scenario i created on each side 10 Servers and 10 Channels, each Channel has a Number in its Name(for example myserver.0 to myserver.9 and myclient.0 to myclient.9)

Hello. I would like to preview video, capture still images and record video simultaneously with my AGP capture card. I have to do it in dotNET. Is there a dedicated solution to do that in dotNET? Or the only solution is to write wrappers to access old directShow? TIA for any answers

If you've configured .NET Remoting to use more than one channel of the same type, for example two TcpClientChannels with unique names, when you want to create a proxy to a remote object how do you specify which channel you want that proxy to use? Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone, Do any of you gurus out there have any suggestions regarding capturing audio/video from a video capture card in C#. Although I've written other programs, I've never worked with audio/video sources before. I've seen other people recommending DirectShow.NET. Is this one of the more popular libraries to use? Would anyone recommend other third- party libraries? Thanks,

Hi, Heres one that google hasnt help much with. I need to capture live HD footage at a max of 1080p/60. Does anyone know of a solution for this? Here are my 2 main problems. 1. Doesnt seem to be a capture card availble for HD 1080p/60 =( 2 Providing I find a capture card the speeds involved are rather silly, 1080p/60 = 6(ish)Mb a frame = 360Mb a second to write to disk! Faster than any hard disk and from what i work out would...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
