Hi all,
I'm quite lost with how adding web references to a project creates proxy
classes.
I've developed a web service with two classes inside and that contains three
references to three DLLs. After building it up, I've deployed it on the web
server.
From my Windows application, I then add a web reference to that web service.

Introduction:
Assume having a MyApp.MyClass class bearing both data (say, DataSets)
and functionality (proprietary methods).
A WebService exposes this class via some GetMyClass WebMethod.
A WSDL-generated proxy class (localhost.MyClass) on the client side,
naturally, has only the data of the original class "mirrored" (well,
that's reasonable, since the WebServices are there to provide data
objects...).
Now, to the question.

Hi, can someone provide some advise on how to get around with using auto
generated proxies?
basically I already have the proxy classes, and they are used by other
places. I'd like use these existing classes instead of having to generate
another set of proxy classes, which are going to be very similar to my
existing classes. any idea?
thanks,
-Jason

An ASP.NET 2.0 web site contains a web form and a web service. The web form
consumes the web service. There is a Book class in the App_Code folder. The
web service exposes a method that returns a Book object. The consumer
includes a method that require a Book parameter. However the Book generated
proxy class conflicts with the Book class in the App_Code folder. Please,
consider the following code. I bet there is an easy way to solve this,...

Hi,
I created a web service using Java/JAX-WS. I'm able to consume this web
service using VS 2005 and .NET without a problem. However, the class and
property names that were generated for the proxy are in camel case. i.e. the
first letter is lower case rather than upper case. Does anyone know how to
correct this (short of manually renaming them myself)?

Web Services make use of proxy classes whose methods & properties are
accessed in exactly the same way as how a normal class' methods &
properties are accessed. So what for does ASP.NET generate proxy
classes (using WSDL) which consume more hard disk space & resources?
For e.g. consider the following code which exists in a user-defined
class file:
Imports System
Imports System.Data

I'm just now beginning to experiment with WCF, and I've run into an odd
hiccup right at the beginning. I presume it's just something I'm doing
wrong, but I can't figure it out.
I've created a simple "Hello World" service, hosted in a console app, and if
I call that service via a ChannelFactory<generated proxy, life is good:
using (ChannelFactory<IHelloWorldhelloFactory = new
ChannelFactory<IHelloWorld>("MyClient"))

Firstly let me be very clear about this, I do not want to create a web
service proxy nor do I want to do anything with web services.
Basically, I have a shrink wrapped desktop application which downloads
data from a web site. Unfortunately the application has a fixed
timeout and the web server regularly exceeds this, causing the
application to shut the connection and subsequently not receive any
data. The desktop application also uploads...

I'm researching what is the best way to create a generic WCF proxy wrapper
that has the following requirements:
1. Remove the System.ServiceModel config section requirement for clients. We
have our own configuration management that follows our application lifecycle
(development/system test/production). Also, most of the proxies we build are
for the middle-tier layer.
2. Create a wrapper to follow WCF Client best practices (proxy.close...

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
