Deploying App, requiring .net Framework problem

36 New Member
I tried to install my app an a machine without the .net framework. In my Publish/Prerequisite settings (C# express 2008), I had "Download prerequisites from the component vendor's web site" check. But unfortunately, I received an error and it did not download from Microsoft's site.

I would like to try to download the prerequisites from my website. So I found the .net redistributable but I'm not exactly sure how to go about including it with my app. I uploaded the redistributable to my web server and in the prerequisites, I chose the 3rd option (Download from the following location) and gave the URL.

However, my application does not build. I'm assuming I need to include some files in my project folder. But I am not sure where things go, etc.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hi I am deploying a winforms app via the windows installer and a VS.Net 2003 setup and deploymnet project. At the moment, I am adding launch conditions for the .Net Framework 1.1 and MDAC 2.7 or higher, and am prompting the user to run the relevant setup files if they're missing. I'm including these setup files on the CD. I can't work out from the Data Access downloads page, which MDAC file I need

Hi All, The company I work for has traditionally used COM/ActiveX for the solutions that it provides. We are in the process of moving to .NET and a few applications have been written in VB.NET up to this point. Some of the applications are class libraries which need to be callable via the COM interface from some of the older applications. Could someone please explain to me the issues involved in deploying such a class library?

Hello All, I've developed a Commerce Server application and am having deployment problems. The issue is not Commerce Server specific, so I'll ask here, since questions get answered here. The application is developed on a remote machine. My compiler runs locally, but the source files and destination is on the remote machine. The remote machine is running Framework 1.0.3705. This morning I PUP'd the Commerce Server site and deployed it...

Hi All This is to clarify the problem that we are facing while deploying the .Net Components in Windows XP. We have compiled our VB.Net components in Visual Studio .Net 2002 (Framework 1.0) and registered with COM+ (using Regsvcs.exe) in Windows 2000 professional machine. We exported the proxy and when we try to install it in Windows XP machine it is throwing the error and cancelling

Hello all, Note: This is the full version of a Post that I inadvertently sent before it was complete. About a year ago I wrote a VB.NET 2003 solution that consists of a number of assemblies (1 EXE and 15 DLLS). As I recall, in order to deploy the solution to a testing server I simply copied the contents of the Bin folder in the development area where the compiled assemblies reside. Be patient with me here, because I haven't used...

Our company just upgraded to VS 2005 (and by the way, I love it!) I was able to migrate the code for our product from VS2003 to VS2005 with only a few snags, and it's working great now. However we are trying to come up with a non-intrusive way to allow our fairly large number of clients to be able to upgrade to the new .NET 2.0 version of our product. We have our own auto-upgrade code inside our product (it downloads updated dll's from...

Hi All, I have few questions about deploying windows apps developed in .Net framework. These days it is all about internet apps and services, and I need to develop small windows app and deployed it on a machine with no internet access, no database installed and no .Net framework either. I try deploying a very simple (very simple indeed) Vb.net application by following the basic steps according to some tutorials. My pc runs Visual Studio 2005 and it reports "Build successful" but I build my application. Then I run setup.exe from the debug folder on the same machine that develops this application, it went through all early steps but when coming to the appeared-to-be last step, it gave out the following error message: ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
