I have an Access database on an ISP's web-space which is accessed
through ASP - all standard stuff.
Can anyone tell me whether ASP's object.context methods for
transactions will work with Access? My ASP reference talks about SQL
Server and XA protocol databases but I have no idea as to whether
Access is covered by the latter.
Thanks

Is there a way to open an OLE DB database from within Access?
I would like to use the Access GUI with its table and query
explorer to examine a database only available through an OLEDB
provider interface.
I have seen several references on how to open an OLE DB
database through VBA/ADO code but I wouldn't know how to go
from there to actually have the database available in the
Access GUI...

Hi,
I need to store and retrieve information from a database. It looks as though
there is a lot more support for SQLServer than there is for Access, correct
me if I am wrong.
What do I have to do to get SQLServer and which version should I be using.
Or is SQLServer already part of the VS.Net? Are there any good examples that
you know of.

I have an asp.net ecommerce web application on a remote web server.
I'm using an Access database on the back end. I've notice a few
strange things. When I mimic an multiple user environment by surfin
it in multiple browsers simultaneously the site generates a generic
runtime error after awhile. I'm thinking this has something to do
with my access database and multiple connections. I'm using forms
authentication with a login page. Is...

Hello All,
I've been developing a VB.NET app that requires the use of a DB. Up to now,
I've been using Access. It's a bit slow, but everything works. I'm at a
point now where I need to decide if I should stay with Access or move the DB
to SQL. I'm trying to come up with a list of Pros/Cons for such a move. My
list is a bit lopsided, as I have very little experience with SQL and quite
a bit with Access.
PROS for moving to SQL:

I have two Access databases: one has records, the other only has blank
tables. I want to copy records to the empty database. I am using a
DataAdaptor and a DataSet for the transfer. My code works for for editing
records or using the Row.ADD() method to append records.
To transfer the records, I have tried the code shown below and variations of
it. The code does not cause an exception but does not transfer the records
either. What...

I've come up against a major headache that I can't seem to find a solution
for but I'm sure there must be a workaround and I would really be grateful
of any help.
I'm currently building a web site for a small club I belong to and one of
the features I would like to include is the ability to allow users to upload
image files.
unfortunately the servers web root www folder only allows READ and EXECUTE
permissions, which makes it...

I'm working through the lessons at Programmer’s Heaven's "C# School" tutorial (http://www.programmersheaven.com/2/Les_CSharp_0), and I'm currently on lesson 13, "Data Access in .Net using ADO.Net", so of course I've been trying to connect to Programmer’s Heaven's SQL and MS Access / OleDb databases. Unfortunately, they're now offline. Can anyone please tell me; are there other such databases available for those learning ADO to practice...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
