Is there a way (perhaps via EventArgs) to signal the app when a user tries to enter out-of-range input into a WinForm control? (Specifically, a number in a NumericUpDown control numericUpDown1 that is larger than numericUpDown1. Maximum?) Yes, I know the control won't allow the input, but I want to display an error message if this happens.

There are none built in that I am aware of. What you could do is allow a greater range, do the validation yourself, raise a custom event, then set the value to the max you will allow.

If you make your own control derived from the numericupdown, there are some private functions that look promising.
There's a "onTextChan ged" and "onTextboxTextC hanged" and "ValidateEditTe xt" that might be helpful.

Hi everyone,
I'd like to know when and how signals are used (e.g. SIGFPE, SIGABRT,
SIGTERM, SIGSEGV, SIGINT)? Thank you so much.

Hello all,
I have two questions about signal handlers. First of all, is it possible to
specify a signal handler for all non-specified signals? Since ISO C defines
only six signals but POSIX defines a lot more of them, I'd like a way to
just use a generic signal handler (which just exits with a special exit
code, for instance) for all non-standard signals, but I have no idea if this
is possible while remaining ISO C compliant.

Why isn't there a numberBox Windows Form control like a
textbox control but for numeric (float) input? There
doesn't seem to be any easy or visual solution to this
VERY SIMPLE ISSUE in either version of Visual Studio. I
simply wanted to create a Windows app where a user could
enter miles or kilometers, gallons or liters, and see the
other in the adjacent box. The form was easy but the
textbox control would not let me cast any number of...

Personally, I am totally confused with the following control terms and usage
and advantages of each one in ASP.NET web application. Here's what I know so
far..
1. HTML Client Control: understood by the client only. e.g. <input
type="text" name="emp_name">
2. HTML Server Control: understood by the server only. e.g. <input
type="text" name="emp_name"
runat="server">
3. Web Server Control: understood by the server only. e.g. <asp:TextBox

after intial r&d we feel that using a Grid Control in WinForms would

Hi,
In my current project, I need to embed an .NET winform usercontrol in
the aspx page (via <Objecttag). This winform usercontrol has an
event called DoEvent (void DoEvent()). This winform usercontrol will
fire this event upon certain action by the user. I tried to let the
aspx page subscribe to this event via
<script for="winObj1" event="DoEvent()" language="javascript">
window.alert("window control event happen!");

Hi,
In C, a signal handler function has only one parameter, that is signal number.
But in Python(import signal), a signal handler function has two
parameters, the first is signal number, the second is "frame"?
What is "frame", please?
Thank you!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
