I always heard people saying enterprise application (large-scale
business application), but I never heard people say enterprise system.
Are they the same? or they are different? My understanding is that
enterprise system consists more than 1 enterprise applications.

converting part of an enterprise application from VS2003 (1.1) to VS2005 (2.0)
(1) Is there a better place to pose the question below?
(2) I am starting to convert my enterprise solution from VS 2003 (.NET
v1.1.4322) to VS 2005 Professional (.NET v2.0.50727). I use "middle tier"
dlls and .NET web services. I want to stage the conversion. Is there a way to
move the dlls from .NET 1.1 to 2.0 without moving the the ASP.NET Mobile

I'd appreciate any feedback
Where some of the Enterprise Application Blocks are pretty powerful, with
all the cool binding controls and the simplicity of combined objectsource and
sqlsource , does the DataAccess Enterprise Application Blocks 2.0 still have
the same benefits?

I was just wondering if anyone else may have incorporated the original
Microsoft Exception Management Application Block (EMAB) or Data Access
Application Block (DAAB) into one of their applications when the blocks were
frist released several years ago?
In the process of trying to upgrage an application to CLR 2.0, I thought it
would make sense to also get the latest application blocks. The are now
called the Enterprise Library...

I have posted this message to the SharePoint.PortalServer group and the
SharePoint.PortalServer.Development group and did receive any
responses, so I suspect I was posting to the wrong groups. I hope that
this group can help with the following:

Hi,
I want to cache some stable user information on client side for later use
by VB clients, so I implement enterprise library cache application block in
COM+ serviced component which is developed in C#. I can save and retrieve it
in short time period. The issue is the data will be expired in a few minutes
even if I set the expiration to datatime.maxvalue. Here is code:
cacheManager.Add(key, val, CacheItemPriority.Normal, null, new...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
