I want to develop a datagridview allowing column selection and filtering,
like this:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/grid/GridFilter.aspx
This example is using dataset. My question is if:
a) I use the same way, using dataset
b) I use Linq converting a query to dataset
c) or if would be done just with Linq

My problem is this. Our clients create different fields they want to
collect and we allow them build dynamic filters, reports etc...
We run some TSQL to actually create the column and all works very well. We
are now adding a lot more functionality to our filters and could really
benefit from using the LINQ to SQL.
I have experimented with the Dynamic Linq...

Hi there.
I am trying to get to know LINQ in combination with a bindingsource and
a datagridview.
In the framework we have at work we have created a usercontrol to do
filtering via textboxes on a datagridview. Therefore we databind through
a bindingsource.
But when i load the data from the database via LINQ instead of through a

Hi
I'm having some problems getting a dynamic LINQ query to work on my DataSet. The idea is that a user selects certain criteria, and then the LINQ query filters through the dataset making the requested changes.
The table I am trying to alter is called RawData, this is defined in a DataSet but has no data columns as these aren't known until some data is imported. As part of my import routine it automatically creates the correct columns...

Hello all,
I learn about LINQ here in this forum. I been a VB.NET programmer for
quite a while and we are using an internal solution for SQL access. I
have some experience with C# and I started to write a blog to share my
experiences with a sql framework.
I would like to hear some opinions about LINQ, is it the main thing
when accessing sql now? what are the main advantages/disavantages
using it. Nothing fancy, just drop a few lines...

Marc,
Thank you very much. I have issue on implementing add row properly using
this.
User presses down arrow in last row in grid starting adding new row.
Then user changes its mind desiding that new row should not added and
presses up arrow.
DataGridView does not show this unfinished row anymore.

This seems to be something so simple that none of the hundred-odd tutorials
and forum threads that I have looked at (:-)) apparently thinks it's a
problem.
In a nutshell, I have two DataGridViews. Each has a BindingSource (and a
BindingNavigator). The first view populates successfully based upon a Linq
to SQL query in the Form Load (that is, the query is assigned to the
DataSource of that view's BindingSource, and the BindingSource is...

I am trying to use Update to save changes made on two DataGridView's to two
tables (Posts & PostDetails) with a FK relationship. I say
private void bUpdate_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {
try {
CustomerDataSetTableAdapters.TableAdapterManager taManager = new
CustomerDataSetTableAdapters.TableAdapterManager();
taManager.PostsTableAdapter = postsTableAdapter;
taManager.PostDetailsTableAdapter = postDetailsTableAdapter;

I have a query which I would like to convert to LINQ. I am having
problems finding good examples or references that cover more complex
queries.
Here is the SQL command I would like to rewrite into C# LINQ. Notice
that one of the returned fields "XrefID" is coming from the second table.
This information is very important but its complicating the query expression
in C# The DataContext has the two classes for the two tables...

hi,
I have a DataGridView on my winform linked to a BindingSource linked to a Linq to SQL class.
My problem is when I update my underlying class, the BindingSource will not notified and my DataGridView will not update.
What should I do to resolve this problem?

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. However, people are often confused as to whether an ONU can Work As a Router. In this blog post, we’ll explore What is ONU, What Is Router, ONU & Router’s main usage, and What is the difference between ONU and Router. Let’s take a closer look !

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
