Hi guys. I've come across a problem when I tried to serialize a class into
xml, only to discover that the parent class's XML Serialization properties
weren't included in the output xml.
Actually, the class I'm serializing is two steps down in the inheritance
ladder. It's got a parent class which also has a parent class :( All those
classes in the hierarchy are Xml Serializable, and I'd think that it should
be obvious that all...

Hi
I wrote a class, Document, which has an Array of ITask objects. In order to
serialize the tasks contained within the tasks array, I marked each task
class with an attribute , and added an entry to the task
collection property (of Document).

I have an array list of objects that I want to serialize into an XML file. I have tried this using the following code, but it gives me an error message
An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in system.xml.dl
Additional information: There was an error generating the XML document
I'm not sure if this is the way that I should go about serializing an array of objects like this, but I would like to get them...

When a class contains a TimeSpan property, XmlSerializer doesn't work. A
TimeSpan property is serialized like:
<MySpan />
I've read a number of posts that talk about why this happens and how to work
around it. My question is from a slightly different angle. What can I do
to my value type structures so that XmlSerializer can serialize them
properly?

Hi,
I've hit quite a strange problem with XmlSerializer on my W2K3 server. When
I serialize/deserialize using an exe on my local computer (XP), everything
works fine. When I put the code out on the server (W2K3) it throws an
exception. It only seems to happen when serializing/deserializing _arrays_
of a type. If I just serialize/deserialize one instance, it works fine.
The exception I get is: (sorry for the word wrapping.)...

Is the following code correct for serializing a quasi-single class, that is
a class that has a descreet (though more than one, so not a true singleton)
number of static instances and no dynamically creatable instances? Please
forgive my use of terms. Quasi-signleton is a term I made up and static
instances is a little bogus too but I don't know the correct terms for what
I mean if there are any. However, I think the code below should be...

Is it possible to serialize a static class containing shared variables like I can
serialize an instance of a normal class (obj)?
I had a static class, but I gave up and converted it into a normal class and created
an instance of it so I could serialize it. But I'm still curious, could I have done
it without serializing the shared variables individually?
Thanks - JackRazz

Hi all
Is there a way to serialize the current form's layout to a string or file?
I'll re-phrase - is there an EASY way to do it ;-)
Thanks

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. However, people are often confused as to whether an ONU can Work As a Router. In this blog post, we’ll explore What is ONU, What Is Router, ONU & Router’s main usage, and What is the difference between ONU and Router. Let’s take a closer look !

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
