I have successfully integrated sorting in the listview control with the
following code:
Private Sub ListView_ColumnClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.Windows.Forms.ColumnClickEventArgs) Handles ListView.ColumnClick
If ListView.Sorting = System.Windows.Forms.SortOrder.Ascending Then
ListView.Sorting = System.Windows.Forms.SortOrder.Descending
Else
ListView.Sorting = System.Windows.Forms.SortOrder.Ascending

Is there any way to know whether the OnItemCheck is being called in response
to a user action (mouse or keyboard) as opposed to the form loading?
I have a class which derives from System.Windows.Forms.ListView. Among
other features, it enables the checkboxes and overrides the OnItemCheck()
method. I have placed this ListView on a form and use form.ShowDialog() to
display it whenever the user presses a certain button.
If the user...

Hi,
When we are sorting the DataGrid Boolean column the grid is becoming
redcross.
I have my own PPMIPDataGridBoolColumn class inherited from
System.Windows.Forms.DataGridBoolColumn. In this inherited class I have one
DataGridValueChangedEventHandler event handler. I am overriding Edit() to
know the current state of the cell. I am overriding Paint() to know the if
the user has been editing the cell. I am also overriding the Commit() to

Hi,
My client does not want users to change the width of a column in a ListView
control.
I have looked hard at properties/methods and events but can see no obvious
solution.
Does any one have a tip on how to handle this in vb.Net(2003)
Thanks

I'm trying to fire the ColumnClick event for a Listview control remotely.
Problem is, I'm not sure what parameters to pass.
Here's the sub header for the event:
Private Sub Files_listview_ColumnClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.Windows.Forms.ColumnClickEventArgs) Handles Files_listview.ColumnClick
I'm *assuming* I can just use the listview control as the sender-- but I
have no idea what to use for e. I've dug through...

Hello,
The aexview is showing four or five columns and most of the time only one or
two is (are) useful in our environment Also the view is too big for our usual
screens so I would like :
- to hide some column from this view if possible
- to create a listview of the same field but limited to the field needed
What is the best way to approach this? Is this possible without changing too
many screens?

Hello All,
For some reason, the MouseDoubleClick event for my ComboBox does not
appear to be working. I am not subscribed to any other events for this
control. I pulled out Spy++ and noticed that the WM_LBUTTONDBCLICK
message is indeed occurring. The ComboBox does not provide a
DoubleClick event like other controls do.
The Windows application is being developed in VS 2005.

Hello,
I'm using the VS 2005 Express Edition for C#. In the GUI designer, when I
try to set the text alignment to anything except Left for the first column of
a ListView, it jumps back to the left anyway, even thought choices of Center
and Right are shown in the drop-down. I've even tried modifying the code
itself after the fact but it merely ignores it. I remember this was a
problem in the original version of the product but I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
