Hi, I am trying to connect a MS SSIS package to an AS400/DB2 database,
and I experience problem when I hit the "Create Package" button in
the "Data Link properties window".
I have understood that the packages need to be created, before I can
run any SQL on the DB2 base via SSIS(?).
Here are the steps that I have done before the problem arise:
1. In MS Visual Studios, I created a new project of type "Integration
Services".
2. On the...

Calling ALL SSIS GURUS
I am trying to import identical MDBs (Access Database) columns into SQL
Server 2005 using foreach loop in SSIS. The data and file name of the
MDBs are not the same; however the structure (column) is. I do need to
capture part of the file name and insert it into the destination column
(i.e. Year). I've used the foreach loop with the flat file connection
manager, and was able to capture any part of a text file name and...

Hello
We use MFG-PRO as our ERP system which in turn uses Progress
databases. In the old version of SQL 2000, using DTS packages, we used
to set the code page via command prompts and execute DTS packages
within that command prompt to fetch data from our double byte ERP
databases. In SSIS, we are able to connect and fecth data from NON
Double Byte databases, however, when we set the code page first and
execute via a command prompt the...

If I want a bunch of developers to execute packages remotely from
Management Studio on their desktops, is there any way to allow them to
connect without giving them local admin privileges on the server that
runs the service?
I've been playing around with the permissions and it looks like that
is the only course of action if I don't want to be the only one to
execute packages and maintain a secure server.

I have an SSIS package which calls many other SSIS packages. Each of
these was created with the import wizard in SSMS. As a result, they
all have SourceConnectionOLEDB and DestinationConnectionOLEDB
connections listed under the Connection Manager in the package
designer.
T deploy the packages to another server I have saved all of the
packages as files. I can open each file in BIDS to create the
packages on the new server but it will...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
