I've been coding a C# project in "pure code" and I would now want to import
it into VS.net. I have created a project and imported all sourcefiles and
it's compiling without problems, except for the resources. Before, I built
the program using a batchfile and linked the resources with the
"/resource:MainFrame.resX" option. Then I loaded them with this code:
Assembly myAssembly = Assembly.GetAssembly(this.GetType());
Stream resXStream =...

MyAppHelper <- project which has MyAppResourcesClass (al a library project)
This class call methode :
ResourceManager MyAppResourceManager = new
ResourceManager("MyAppMain.Resources", Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly());
and I obtain error which tell that there is no propertly added

In an app that was working, all I did was specify an icon for the main
form (through the form designer) and recompile it.
Result: MissingManifestResourceException
After digging around, I found that the compiler generates .resource
files in the debug build of the application, for all forms except the
main one (form1).
The .resx file (with the icon in it) exists in the source directory,

I've upgraded a .Net 1.1 web app to 2.0 and am having a heck of a time
getting resources to work again. From what I understand if I move my
strings.resx file into the App_GlobalResources folder I should magically be
able to reference my strings using the syntax Resources.strings.string1.
This isn't working for me. Is there something I'm missing other than moving
the file itself and rebuilding? I get this error:
"The type or namespace...

Hi,
I need to cover by custom authentication algorithm both ASP.NET and other
resources within the site.
FormsAuthentication covers only resources beeing handled by ASP.NET. Other
generic resources can be retrieved without beeing logged on.
I'm trying to configure the site to handle all resources via ASP.NET. Is it
possible?

· When was .NET announced?
Bill Gates delivered a keynote at Forum 2000, held June 22, 2000,
outlining the .NET 'vision'. The July 2000 PDC had a number of sessions
on .NET technology, and delegates were given CDs containing a
pre-release version of the .NET framework/SDK and Visual Studio.NET.
· When was the first version of .NET released?
The final version of the 1.0 SDK and runtime was made publicly

Problem: C# 2.0 doesn't imbed a UAC manifest in the EXE files that it
produces.
Problem: The suggested solution on MSDN is unworkable (manually opening the
EXE using VS as a resource editor and inserting the manifet resource).
Problem: Changing the C# project to explicitly link a .RES file suppresses
the generation of the native VS_VERSIONINFO resource by the C# compiler.
All in all, MS made it harder than necessary to produce a...

Moving all User Controls to a single directory has solved my problem - Thanks
Eliyahu.
That said, I still got one Circular ref error yesterday, rebuilt again and
the build was fine? Far far better than the amount of errors I was originally
getting on builds before I consilidated by UC's though :-)

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible in VS2005 to get strongly typed
resources using an external assembly that contains string resx files. Here
are some bullets on what I'm trying to do:
* I want to manage common strings in a resx file that is in a separate
project from my web application.
* I want to be able to use strongly type names in the web app to refer to
the external resx file values
* I want to be able to update the data...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
