Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone can help me with a really annoying problem I have
been having. I made a derived datagrid class that will select the row when
a user clicks anywhere on a cell (multi-select without modifier keys). I
got that working fine, but I also wanted to keep rows selected after a sort,
which I do by storing the row's id in an arraylist. The idea was to do the
sort and then go back and re-select the rows with that...

Hi,
I get LVHITTESTINFO::Flag=LVHT_NOWHERE when I do a Hit Test in my ListView.
The list containts items and subitems created with designer. Clicking
anywhere in the list makes not HitTest return valid Index (return -1). Why?
Hugo
// Called by ListView::MouseUp with x=e->get_X() and y=e->get_Y()

I'm using HitTest to get a value from the cells into a textbox. I have put
the HitTest code into the MouseDown-event, and everything is working except
one thing. When I start the program the value in the first column/row is
highlighted and the HitTest doesn't retrieve a value if I click on that
cell. Is there a way to get a datagrid to not highlight a cell - or are
there any other ways to solve this?
HitTest-code (simplified)

I am not sure if this is too-granular a question to post to this group;
however, I did not see a Tablet-specific group. I am experiencing a problem
with the Microsoft.Ink.Ink.HitTest(Point , float) method in the Tablet SDK.
I have pasted code below that verifies the problem using NUnit. In short,
performing a hit-test on a Stroke that I have manually created with a set of
input points is generating inconsistent results between...

Hi all,
I'm trying to correct the (imho) wrong behaviour of a listbox when the user
right-clicks on an item. I would like the selection to change when this
happens, just like when the user uses the left mouse button.
Most multi-item controls seem to have the hittest method, but in the
documentation of the listbox I can't find it.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi.
I have a trackbar. I need to set trackbar value depending on where
user has clicked on the bar ( mouse_up event for example ). However
avent arguments are telling me only about x and y position and so
on... If i had hittest method i could try to work it out... Maybe you
will know how to do described task?

I'm trying to use the Hittest to determine where on a node my mouse is. Only
I want to know stuff for which there isn't a flag -- eg "Is the hit in the
upper part, the center, or the bottom part of the treenode?"
How do I do this? Must I somehow override TVM_HITTEST? Is there an easy
way to get a treenode's location and then figure out where my hit happened on
my own?
Help. Thanks

I'm posting code for a user control ( FunctionConnectorSelector) below which
has 3 content controls in it. each content control uses a style from a
resource dictionary merged into the app.xaml file. each control has a
border with another style, and each border has a unique path inside of it.
I need to dynamically add these content controls using c# at runtime and am
having trouble referencing the styles and adding the path into the...

I am trying to implement a drag and drop operation from a listbox to a data
gridview control but I keep getting -1 for my row index when the dragdrop
function is executed. Below is my coding.
DataGridView.HitTestInfo info = dataGridView2.HitTest(e.X, e.Y);
int row = info.RowIndex;
The coordinates returned to the dragdrop function seem to be coordinates
relative to the window rather than to the datagridview control. In any case,
I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
