For some reason I am unable to drag a CrystalreportViewer from the toolbox
onto my web form design surface in VS.NET 2003 - I get a black circle with a
diagonal line through it.
I have installed the Crystal Reports components with my VS.NET and am able
to add a new Crystal Report to the project (File|Add New Item|Web Project
Items|Crystal Report.
I assume that something has not been installed correctly. Does it need VB to

Hi,
I created a ASP.NET crystal reports web site in VS 2005. I wanted to display
the data in a DataSet in the Crystal Reports viewer control. I am getting the
DataSet from another dll. The documentation says that I need to add a new
item - Crystal report, with a blank report in the project which will
automatically create a class say CrystalReport1 in my project (if the name of
the crystal report added is CrystalReport1.rpt). I should...

I've been working on an Addin for Outlook in C#. It hasn't been long now,
just a couple of days.
Suddenly though, running my project in Debug launches Outlook as specified,
but no breakpoints are hit in my source code. The Addin isn't being loaded.
If I create a new Addin program from scratch, e.g. AddIn1, it loads up fine
from Outlook. I archived my existing code, cleared out the registry and
recreated a brand new Addin project with...

Hi,
I have moved an application from VS2003 to VS2005, and I am now unable
to view most of my forms in the designer.
The majority of the forms in my project are derived from class PACForm,
(which itself derives from System.Windows.Forms.Form)
Whenever I try to open on of these forms in the designer, I get an
error, stating it is unable to load one or more of the requested types.

I created a windows service using VS 2005 in VB.NET and it runs on my
Windows XP Pro machine just fine, now I'm want to install it on one of
my servers which is a Windows 2000 Terminal server running sp4 version
5.00.2195. I also have .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 installed on
this server AND the server was rebooted after the .NET Framework 2.0
was installed.
I had some custom actions set up in the installer class, thinking that
might...

I was intending to use an XCOPY install for a VS2005 C# WinForms app but
when I copied the files and ran the app on a clean machine it failed when it
needed Crystal Reports. Can you not use XCOPY deployment if you have
Crystal Reports dependencies?
Is there an available Crystal redistribution package I can run before doing
my XCOPY deployment?
TIA

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
