LayoutEngine.La yout - currentChildCon trol.Left is always zero?

Hi all

This is driving me mad! Can anyone tell me why the Left property of my
SelectImageItem Control is always zero when it should vary?

The relevant code is....

public override bool Layout(object container, LayoutEventArgs
layoutEventArgs )
{
base.Layout(con tainer, layoutEventArgs );
Control parentControl = layoutEventArgs .AffectedContro l;
int x = ControlSpacing. Width / 2;
int y = ControlSpacing. Height / 2;
foreach (Control currentChildCon trol in parentControl.C ontrols)
{
if (!currentChildC ontrol.Visible)
continue;

currentChildCon trol.Location = new Point(x - currentChildCon trol.Width /
2, y - currentChildCon trol.Height / 2);

// *** Why is currentChildCon trol.Left 0 when x is a negative number?

x += ControlSpacing. Width;
if (x parentControl.C lientRectangle. Right - ControlSpacing. Width / 2)
{
x = ControlSpacing. Width / 2;
y += ControlSpacing. Height;
}
}

return false;
}

I would appreciate any help, thankyou!
Pete

Hi, I am designing a web site that will that showcase a bunch of vacation pictures. It will have a banner and a navigation menu (consisting of 13 rectangular images that can be clicked). I am considering a few different layouts: - Banner on top, with the navigation menu immediately below it. The problem with this layout is that the menu would be about 770 pixels wide, since there are 13 items in it. Many users would have to...

The HTML specifications define the entities ‍, ‌, ‎, ‏ as denoting zero-width joiner, zero-width non-joiner, left to right mark, and right to left mark. Is there any evidence of any browser support to the characters so denoted, in the sense defined in the Unicode standard, chapter 15? ( ‍, ‌, ‎, ‏ ) For example, does f‍i ever produce an fi ligature? In my tests, the best I get is that the characters...

Good morning, I'm currently designing a site, using CSS, and wish to create a variable width two-column layout, with header and footer, and one fixed-width column on the left. Previously, I would have used a table to do this, using the following code: <table width="100%">

I'm trying (once again) to figure out how to make a robust CSS layout style that can replace tables. I'd like to be able to do a basic two-column layout, with a one-column header, a two column body, and a two-column footer. The problem, and one that always sends me back to using tables, is that word "robust." Absolute positioning gets squirrelly, because it takes the positioned elements completely out of the float scheme, and stuff...

Can people please comment on the layout/style of my problem? The major issue I had was the layout. I ended up having to put a relatively large switch statement, inside an if statement, which is inside a while loop. If someone can tell me how I can rearrange these elements a little to make it cleaner, I would appreciate that. I've tested it on the command line, and it works *well*, but the source code layout is bugging me. I'd also...

Hi, I am new to this newsgroup and need help in the following questions. 1. I am workin' on a GUI application. Does C# provides Layout Managers the way Java does to design GUI? I know that it can be done using the designer but I intentionally don't want to use that. The one reason is that you cannot change the code generated by the designer. The other could be that you have more free hand and control to design your GUI. 2....

The idea of this is very simle. The site is 800px wide and sits in the middle of the browser window, on either side of the site I want a different background image aligned against it. If I were doing this with table based layout the code would be as follows: <head> <style type="text/css"> #bgleft { background: url(left_half_circle.gif) right top repeat-y;

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
