I need to be able to allow users to drag files to a list box on a web
page. To this end, I created a Windows Control and hosted it in a
WebForm. When the file is dropped onto the listbox, the path of the
file is truncated down to 8.3 format (with the ~1 at the end). When the
Windows control is hosted in a windows form (for testing purposes) the
full path is displayed.
Is there some setting that will allow the full path to be displayed...

I am working on a system, which among other things includes a server and a
..net control sitting in an html page and connected to the server. I ran into
a couple of problems, you guys might have some insight about.
1) It takes 20 sec or so to open a tcp socket from the client to the server.
It just sits in the TcpClient.conect waiting for something. When I run the
same control from a windows application it connects right away and works...

I need a little help here please.
I have 2 win forms user controls in 2 different projects that I'm hosting in
2 different virtual directories. The controls have been test and operate okay
in both projects.
Both controls(dlls) have been signed using SN.exe and I've set up the
appropriate .Net assembly permissions using those Strong Names
The DLL's have been copied to the /bin directory in both web virtual
directories.

I'm integrating some software from different vendors with a winform
hosted in IE, so I don't have control over the source...
Here are the symptoms:
A Test program with a winform exe calling the same ActiveX control runs
in 5 seconds
The same winform hosted within IE using an <object> tag takes 2 minutes
to load and then call the ActiveX control via interop.

I'm struggling with an issue here.
The .Net2.0 application i'm developing makes use of both the
WebBrowser control and controls hosted with this.
When the document has loaded i check the DOM through an
GetElementsByTagName( "object" ) call to get references to the objects

OK. I am trying to embed a control in a webpage that will allow local
access to the TAPI system to make and query phone calls. In a
nutshell.
Anyway, I am aware that there are many security issues around this and
have some mitigation of them in that the site is a 'private internet
site' - IPs locked to the users offices.
